Calendula
$4.00

Calendula 🌼

Calendula (Calendula officinalis), or pot marigold, is a hardy, sun-loving annual in the daisy family, known for its bright yellow and orange edible flowers. It is a staple in the herbal garden for its skin-soothing properties and a favorite for pollinators like bees. Calendula thrives in the cooler temperatures of spring and early summer.

Sowing & Planting

  • Direct Sow (Recommended): Plant outdoors in early spring as soon as the soil can be worked, typically early May.

  • Depth: Sow seeds 1/4 to 1/2 inch deep; they require darkness to germinate.

  • Spacing: Thin seedlings to 8–12 inches apart to ensure good air circulation.

  • Germination: Seeds typically sprout in 5–15 days

  • Days to Maturity: 45–70 days

Regularly remove spent flowers to encourage continuous blooming throughout the season and prevent excessive self-seeding.

About 50 seeds per packet.

Arugula

Arugula 🌱

Arugula is a fast-growing, cool-season leafy green that grows well from seed and is prized for its peppery flavor.

Growing Instructions

  • Best Time to Plant: Sow seeds in early spring (as soon as the soil can be worked) or late summer for a fall harvest. It thrives in temperatures between 40°F and 75°F

  • Soil & Spacing: Use nutrient-rich, well-drained soil amended with compost. Sow seeds 1/4-inch deep. For full-sized plants, space them 4 to 6 inches apart; for baby greens, you can broadcast seeds more densely.

  • Maturity: as little as 20-40 days to harvest.

You can begin harvesting individual outer leaves once they are 2 to 3 inches long. If you cut the entire plant about 1 inch above the soil, it will often regrow for a second or third harvest.

50-100 seeds per packet.

Who we are

Family-owned and mountain-grown. At Tiny Teton Seeds, our lives revolve around the outdoors—from summer harvests to winter ski runs. We specialize in seeds for gardeners who, like us, need plants that can thrive in a shorter, cooler growing season.

Located in the heart of Zone 4B, our small-scale farm sits on a shady hillside that mimics the diverse conditions many northern gardeners face. Growing on a slope teaches you about the importance of deep roots and soil health, while our shade-dappled beds ensure our varieties are comfortable in less-than-perfect light. Every seed we share is a product of this unique environment—locally adapted, climate-tested, and ready to thrive in your garden.
